Israeli army storms barricades Husan village in Bethlehem

Thursday 12-January-2017

The Israeli army on Wednesday laid tight siege to Husan village west of Bethlehem and prevented its residents from going in or out.

Chief of the village Hasan Hamamra said that military barriers were deployed in the morning at all entrances to the village before soldiers stormed it.

Hamamra added that the soldiers broke into and ransacked 10 homes in the village and interrogated several young men and children.

He also said that the soldiers brutalized some villagers and refused to allow anyone to leave or enter the village at the pretext of looking for stone throwers.

Hamamra noted that Israeli soldiers with their military vehicles blocked a 500-dunum agricultural road leading to the village in an attempt to seize it.

Earlier the Israeli army declared in an announcement that the village would be a closed military zone for 24 hours as part of a campaign to arrest Palestinians who allegedly threw stones at Israeli cars on a road leading to Beitar Illit settlement.
