Wednesday 4-January-2017

The Israeli authorities have extended the detention of a Palestinian child suffering from chronic health problems until next Thursday on allegations that he threw stones at soldiers near Ofer military checkpoint west of Ramallah city.

16-year-old Ahmed Khadour from Ramallah city was arrested last Monday by soldiers during his presence near Ofer checkpoint according to his sister Hanin.

At the time Hanin said her mother rushed to the checkpoint after she heard Ahmed was being assaulted by soldiers and tried to free him from their grip but the soldiers also assaulted her and one of them pointed his gun at her.

She added that a court hearing would be held for her brother next Thursday on a charge of throwing stones at Israeli soldiers.

Ahmed the youngest among his family children suffers from half paralysis and hardly can walk. He also receives daily medication for epilepsy.
