RAMALLAH (PIC)– The PA minister of social affairs Fakhri Turkman has expressed utter dismay over the Jordanian authority’s refusal to allow him pass through its lands to attend an Arab League conference in Cairo.
Turkman said in a press release that the Jordanian authority detained him at the King Hussein bridge for hours on Saturday before blocking his entry into Jordan and compelling him to go back to the West Bank.
The minister denounced the Jordanian act charging that it fell in line with attempts to hinder Palestinian ministers from performing their duties and assuming their roles.
“Such measures do not serve fraternal Arab relations” the minister said asking Amman to retract its decision and to allow him represent Palestine in the Arab conference scheduled in the period December 17-18.
