95 Israeli violations against Palestinian holy sites and 48 bans on Adhan (Muslim call to prayers) at al-Ibrahimi Mosque were documented last November a Palestinian ministry report said Monday.
A statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf (Endowment) and Religious Affairs warned of the swift hike in Israeli sacrilegious assaults on the holy al-Aqsa Mosque and violations of Muslims’ freedom of worship.
Over 95 violations on sacred places of worship and cemeteries by the Israeli occupation forces and settlers were documented during November.
A number of such sacrilegious assaults occurred at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque after Israeli settlers stepped up break-ins under a tight security shield.
The ministry warned that such aggressions aim to wipe out the Islamic identity of Occupied Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Israeli occupation authorities also banned the Muslim call to prayer in Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil on at least 48 occasions under flimsy pretexts.
The statement also said the Israeli so-called Civil Administration set up scaffolds at al-Nabi Samuil Mosque while municipality bulldozers knocked down the foundations of al-Farouq Mosque in Sour Baher village to the southeast of Occupied Jerusalem under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
The occupation authorities also embarked on a project to Judaize the Al-Ibrahimi schoolyard near Al-Ibrahimi Mosque paving the way for the establishment of a 500-square-meter barrack.
