One Palestinian was killed in Gaza by the Israeli navy while dozens suffered injuries during confrontations with soldiers in different areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem during the first week of January 2017.
According to a report released by al-Intifada website fisherman Mohamed al-Hissi drowned off the northern coast of Gaza last Wednesday January 4 following a ramming attack by an Israeli gunboat. His body has not been found.
During the reporting week 56 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli military and security forces in 98 flashpoints in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Over 123 Palestinians including 18 children and 33 women from the West Bank and Jerusalem were also detained or arrested during the same period in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
