Violent clashes broke out on Friday afternoon in different Ramallah areas following demonstrations protesting Israel’s confiscation of Palestinian lands in favor of settlement construction.
Hundreds of Palestinians performed Friday prayer on lands threatened with confiscation in Al-Mughayyir village and Jabal al-Risan area in favor of settlement expansion projects.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the two areas and heavily fired teargas canisters at the Palestinian worshipers causing many suffocation cases among them.
The IOF three months ago confiscated over 50 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in Jabal al-Risan as a prelude to seizing about 700 dunums in the area to establish a new settler outpost.
