Palestinian prisoner Imad Abul-Haija suspended on Saturday his hunger strike after he received a pledge from Israeli jailers to allow him next month to meet his father who has been serving a life sentence since 2002 according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
Imad an administrative detainee started five days ago an open-ended hunger strike to pressure the Israeli prison service (IPS) to allow him to see his father Jamal Abul-Haija a senior Hamas official as well as his two administratively detained brothers Abdul-Salam and Asem.
PPS said that the IPS transferred Imad from Megiddo jail to Negev jail pointing out that another military order extending his administrative detention was issued against him.
