Dozens of Jewish settlers performed on Friday morning provocative Talmudic rituals at the gates of the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque under Israeli police protection.
Eyewitnesses reported that groups of settlers assembled in the al-Asbat and Hatta Gates areas amid an intense deployment of the occupation police.
During the past week 436 settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals. The incursions were centered in the eastern region of the Mosque.
The increase of settlers’ incursions was the result of calls by the so-called Temple groups to break into Al-Aqsa in large numbers starting last Sunday.
The Israeli occupation authorities imposed comprehensive lockdown on Jerusalem under the pretext of the coronavirus for 40 days and prevented Muslim worshipers from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque while allowing settlers to storm it.
Calls continue for all Muslims in 1948 Occupied Palestine and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to intensify their presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque to confront the Jewish settlers’ incursions.
