According to the Palestinian Football Association on Wednesday the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) gave Tokyo Sexwale chairman of the FIFA Monitoring Committee in Palestine a 30-day time limit to submit his final report about the Palestinian football to the FIFA to make a final decision regarding the Israeli violations.
Sexwale presented on Tuesday 10th January his initial report to the FIFA Council held in Zurich. This came after several field visits by Sexwale to the region to identify all the Israeli crimes and violations committed against football members in Palestine including preventing them from moving receiving equipment and experts and establishing sports facilities. This is also in addition to demolishing the established sports facilities inciting racism against the Arabs and allowing clubs built on illegal settlements to compete in the Israeli football league.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said on Tuesday during a press conference following the meetings of the FIFA Council that the council has discussed the initial report by Sexwale and that they will continue working to solve all the problems facing the Palestinian football. He added that Sexwale was given a 30-day time limit to submit his final report according to which a final decision will be made on the issue.
The Palestinian Football Association had called last month on the FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations to assume their responsibilities and raise the “red card” in the face of the “settlement clubs” following the Security Council’s resolution which considered the Israeli settlements illegal according to the international laws and conventions.
The Association worked hard to reach all the football national federations around the world to expose the Israeli racist crimes against the Palestinian sports and compel Israel to enforce the FIFA laws towards Palestine as an active member of the international federation.
