RAMALLAH (PIC)– The IOA has finally released Sheikh Saleh Al-Aruri after 15 years in occupation jails on charges of finding the armed wing of the Hamas Movement in the West Bank.
The Sheikh 40 was arrested on 21/10/1992 and sentenced to five years behind bars but was then retained under administrative detention orders for two years before being sentenced to another five years in prison then back to renewed administrative detention orders till he was finally released on Sunday 11/3/2007.
Aruri who hails from Arura village in Ramallah district spent most of his detention in isolation cells and was moved from one jail to another. He was released today from the Kfar Yona jail.
