Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Khaled Tafesh has slammed the escalating arrest campaigns launched by the Israeli military against anti-occupation activists across the West Bank.
Tafesh said the Israeli forces have embarked on “criminal” abduction sweeps ever since they occupied Palestine.
He said the arbitrary detention of journalists and anti-occupation icons makes part of Israel’s attempts to cover up its crimes and violations against the Palestinian people.
He added that the Israelis should be prosecuted for such arrest sweeps which flagrantly breach international humanitarian laws.
“For over 70 years such Israeli crackdowns have failed to dash the hopes of the Palestinian people throughout their anti-occupation struggle. The Palestinians will keep going until they liberate their land from Israel’s usurping grips” Tafesh further stated.
