Yousef: Liberating prisoners from Israeli jails is an honor for Hamas

Sunday 5-September-2021

Senior Hamas official Hasan Yousef has described the liberation of Palestinian prisoners especially women from Israeli jails as “an honor that Hamas is seeking to achieve through a swap deal.”

During his visit to the house of Anhar ad-Deek in Ramallah Yousef affirmed that Hamas would never forget the prisoners in Israeli jails affirming that the Movement would continue to work diligently on extracting their freedom through a new swap deal.

He said that the release of ad-Deek was the fruit of patience and steadfastness she and her family showed during her detention adding that the great popular solidarity with her also contributed to pressuring the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) to release her.

On Friday head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya phoned Anhar ad-Deek congratulated her and her family on her release and applauded her steadfastness during her presence in Damon jail.

Last Thursday the IOA released ad-Deek a pregnant young woman from Kafr Ni’ma town in Ramallah at the Salem military checkpoint in the west of Jenin.

She was kidnaped on March 8 in the first months of her pregnancy on allegations of attacking Jewish settlers and suffered from very difficult health and incarceration conditions in Damon jail.
