GAZA (PIC)– MP Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabeyya the chairman of the legal committee in the PA legislature has hailed Saturday the Arab popular and official support for the Palestinian issue and the Palestinian people describing such support as “great”.
In a written statement he issued at conclusion of a visit to a number of Arab countries the Palestinian legislator pointed out that the Arab sympathy and support for the Palestinian people was obvious and that it was translated into promises from those countries to rebuild the devastated Gaza Strip.
Among the countries visited by Abu Halabeyya who is also the rapporteur of the Quds Committee in the PLC was Bahrain Saudi Arabia Qatar Lebanon and Syria where he met with speakers and members in the parliaments of those countries.
He also met with a number of political figures Arab party leaders and head of states including the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Abu Halabeyya according to the statement was able to gain a number of “bountiful” Arab promises to rebuild the ravaged Gaza Strip and to reconstruct what the Israeli occupation had destroyed.
During his visits to those Arab countries Abu Halabeyya stressed the importance of giving the issue of the occupied city of Jerusalem more attention amidst increasing and relentless Israeli efforts to judaize it.
He also met with Hamas’s supreme political leader Khaled Mishaal in the Syrian capital Damascus where they agreed to sent letters and memos to all Arab leaders so as to serve as a “wake up” call for them and to urge them to stand in defense of the holy city.
