Hamas calls on Arab summit to help Palestinians restore their usurped rights

Saturday 28-March-2009

GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Saturday called on the Arab summit to open in Doha on Monday to stand by the Palestinian people to restore their usurped rights and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and to be united in the face of the challenges that beset the Arab nation.

In an exclusive statement to the PIC Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil a prominent Hamas leader called on the Arab summit to stand together in unifying and supporting the Palestinian people in light of the escalating Israeli aggression expressing hope that the Arab states would stand at the same distance from Hamas and Fatah and insist on the Palestinian constants as a framework for the national dialog.

Dr. Bardawil demanded the summit to implement the Arab foreign ministers’ previous resolution to break the siege on Gaza especially at this critical time where the Gaza people desperately need to rebuild what the Israeli occupation had destroyed.

The Hamas leader also proposed forming a strong and effective committee of jurists and experts in order to file lawsuits with international courts against Israeli war criminals.

He highlighted the need to take practical steps during the summit against the Zionist schemes to judaize and impose a fait accompli in occupied Jerusalem.

Bardawil finally expressed hope that the summit would activate the file of Palestinian prisoners and support the Palestinian resistance’s just demands with respect to the prisoner swap deal.
