Arab popular assemblies urge Arab summit to confront attempts to judaize J’lem

Saturday 28-March-2009

BEIRUT (PIC)– The Arab national congress the general conference of Arab parties and the national-Islamic conference have called on the Arab summit scheduled to kick off in Doha next Monday to take tangible steps and actions to counter Israel’s attempts to judaize occupied Jerusalem and demolish the Aqsa Mosque and to confront its systematic policy of razing Jerusalemite homes.

“All appeals and statements do not spare a home from demolition. The Aqsa Mosque is about to collapse lands are annexed and settlements are rapidly expanded and then what solution or state can you talk about and what is the feasibility of the Arab initiative that you look forward to if Jerusalem has been judaized” the three conferences underlined in a joint statement addressed to the Arab summit and a copy of which was received by the PIC.

The statement urged the participating countries to unite the Arab official position in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza through breaking the siege opening the crossings especially the Rafah border terminal and providing unconditional assistance to Gaza in order to protect the unity of the Palestinians from the blackmails of the donor countries.

It stressed the need for taking practical steps to protect the Palestinians of the 1948 occupied lands from displacement and deportation and to pressure by all means available to get 12000 Palestinian prisoners released from Israeli jails.

It also called for renouncing the Arab peace initiative under which the settlement expansion escalated and steps to judaize Jerusalem accelerated and for reviving the Arab boycott agreement and the joint Arab defense pact.

The statement demanded the Arab leaders to confront the blatant assault on the sovereignty of Sudan and the corrupt decision taken against its president Omar Al-Bashir and to liberate the Arab will from the American hegemony.
