OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority on Monday detained Sheikh Ra’ed Salah the head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine while attending a celebration marking Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture 2009.
Press reports said that the Israeli occupation police stormed a tent pitched for the occasion in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem where Sheikh Salah was about to address a press conference.
The reports added that eight others were rounded up in the same tent.
The IOA claimed that the press conference was a Hamas-affiliated event and prevented the Sheikh from attending it before telling the sympathizers and journalists attending the event that the area was a closed military zone.
