Monday 16-March-2009

GAZA (PIC)– The government committee to break the siege on Monday called for urgent international action to open the crossings and break the unjust siege and urged the pro-Palestine organizations to intensify their activities and events in solidarity with the Gaza Strip.

In a press release received by the PIC Adel Zu’rub the spokesman for the government committee said that the arrival of many solidarity convoys by sea and land during the last period in Gaza were a nail in the coffin of the Israeli blockade.

Zu’rub expressed appreciation to all activists who worked hard to break the siege and travelled through barriers and borders to arrive in Gaza.

The spokesman stressed that the success in arriving in Gaza is attributed to the determination of the trips’ organizers and their courage to face all risks expressing hope that these past steps would continue until the siege is lifted once and for all.

The spokesman also invited secretary-general of the Arab League Amr Moussa and Arab foreign ministers to visit Gaza through the Rafah border crossing.
