Bahar declares formation of joint friendship committee with Bahrain

MANAMA (PIC)– Dr. Ahmed Bahar the acting speaker of the PLC announced the formation of a joint friendship committee called “Palestine committee” between the PLC and the Bahraini parliament to promote the parliamentary cooperation and bilateral relations between the two sides.

This came during an official visit to Manama at the invitation of the Bahraini parliament. The visit is part of a tour made by a parliamentary delegation headed by Dr. Bahar to a number of Arab and Islamic countries.

During a visit to the parliament’s headquarters in Manama the acting speaker briefed Bahraini speaker Sheikh Khalifa Dhahrani and lawmakers on the suffering of the Gaza people under the Israeli siege especially after the war.

The two sides agreed on studying a mechanism according to which the Bahraini parliament would prosecute Israeli leaders as war criminals while the PLC would provide all legal files for the start of this step.

For his part MP Ahmed Abu Halabiya explained the dangers that threaten the Aqsa Mosque and the harsh and difficult conditions in occupied Jerusalem especially after Israel decided to demolish hundreds of Palestinian homes expand the settlements in the vicinity of the holy city and displace more citizens.
