Hamas castigates PA intelligence for sending summonses to female students

Thursday 1-November-2007

NABLUS (PIC)– Hamas strongly denounced the PA intelligence apparatus for sending summonses to a number of female students affiliated with the Islamic bloc at the Najah University in Nablus at the pretext of their participation in a peaceful march in protest at storming the ladies’ prayers room on campus by elements of the university security.

Hamas considered the summoning of female students a blatant attack against the Palestinian family who suffer greatly from the Israeli occupation and a violation of personal freedom pointing out that it coincides with the kidnapping of two Palestinian women in Qalqilya on Tuesday by the IOF troops.

In a statement received by the PIC the Islamic bloc affiliated with Hamas warned of the serious consequences of sending summons to 10 female students from the Najah University in order to interrogate them describing it as a violation of all Islamic traditions and values.

The student bloc explained that the attacks on students include banning student activities and dismissing and kidnapping students in collaboration with some students affiliated with Fatah.

The bloc criticized the university administration’s passive position which flouted all documents and petitions tendered by the Islamic bloc exposing and calling for stopping the arbitrary acts practiced by those elements against students adding the university administration on the contrary turned its offices into investigation rooms against the Najah students and hid the results of the investigation commission.

The bloc called on the university students and teachers to expose the acts of those who tamper with the university’s security.
