GAZA (PIC)– Fawzi Barhoum the spokesman of Hamas Movement in Gaza Strip has vehemently denied Saturday statements uttered by PA chief Mahmoud Abbas alleging that Hamas Movement was holding contacts with Israel on “daily basis”.
Abbas’s remarks came in an interview with the Dubai-based Al-Arabia satellite TV channel a couple of days ago.
“It seems that he (Abbas) wants to put Hamas and Fatah in one basket in order to justify his plans to liquidate the Palestinian national issue” Barhoum elaborated.
He also confirmed that Hamas was and still is regarding the Israeli occupation government as an “enemy” that kills innocent Palestinians on daily basis as evident by the facts on the ground and thus he added it (Hamas) firmly rejects any form of negotiations with the Israeli occupation.
“The Israeli occupation government is a terrorist government killing wounding and arresting Palestinian people on daily basis so how could Hamas negotiate with terrorists at a time the entire world had declared war on terrorists and terrorism” the Hamas official highlighted.
He pointed out that “negotiating with the Israeli occupation government would legitimize its occupation of Palestine and that is what Hamas is exactly refusing”.
He also shrugged off Abbas’s allegations that Hamas had forsworn resistance against Israel affirming that facts on the ground testify for Hamas’s role in fighting the Israeli occupation government in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
“No one should dictate on Hamas when and how to resist the Israeli occupation government” he asserted underlining that Hamas believes in the right of all peoples under occupation to resist that occupation.
Palestinian fighters led by the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas had repelled a number of IOF troops’ incursions in Gaza Strip last week killing and wounding a number of the invading Israeli soldiers.
A couple of days ago Hebrew media sources quoted high-ranking IOF officers and soldiers as acknowledging that the QB fighters became more organized and fight with developed combat tactics.
