Zahhar calls for expediting national reconciliation and unity

Friday 21-October-2011

GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Mahmoud al-Zahhar member of Hamas’s political office said that his movement will not leave Palestinian captives in occupation jails at any cost and any sacrifices.

Zahhar said this during the Friday sermon which he gave at the Shati’ Grand Mosque in west Gaza City in the presence of the Prime Minister Ismail Haneyya and dozens of freed captives from the West Bank.

He called on all concerned to understand the lesson; “They have a chance to release our captives in whatever way they see fit by internal decisions international decisions or UN intervention.”

He reiterated Hamas’s position on establishing a Palestinian state on 1967 borders or any liberated part of Palestine without recognising Israeli occupation or ceding an inch of land.

The prominent Hamas leader called for expediting national reconciliation and uniting Palestinian forces saying: “Those who call for the liberation of Palestine and reject ceding a grain of sand of Palestine cannot accept the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to be separated.”

“If the efforts are to work for a Palestinian state on 1967 borders then let us work together for this stage but these are not our borders because our borders are well known they include all of Palestine.”
