CAIRO (PIC)– Former aide to former Egyptian Foreign Minister and prospective presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah al-Ashaal said that the conclusion of the prisoner exchange deal is an indicator of Egypt’s vital regional and international role.
In a statement on Saturday Ashaal said that Egypt preserved its constructive role in the Arab region and its role in supporting Palestinians to get their legitimate rights.
He added that it is important that Israel learns that “Egypt will not abandon the Palestinians until they gain their legitimate right to an independent state recognised internationally and that the Egyptian revolution will be the main factor to achieve peace and justice in the Arab region.”
He then called on Israel to “release all captives in its jails without the need for kidnaping another Shalit to pressure it to do so.”
He praised the Palestinian people for their steadfastness and sacrifices to get the captives released.
