Occupation decides to keep lawmaker Tafesh in administrative detention

RAMALLAH (PIC)– The occupation court of Ofer on Thursday sentenced Palestinian lawmaker Khaled Tafesh for Bethlehem to four months administrative detention without charges or proper trial.

Tafesh was arrested a week ago. The decision to pass an administrative detention against him coincided with similar decisions to keep the PLC speaker Aziz Dweik and lawmaker for Ramallah Abdel-Jabbar Fuqaha administrative detention.

Tafesh was arrested last Friday. He was detained before by the occupation and then released. He is serving as a Change and Reform (Hamas) PLC member for Bethlehem who spent a number of years in occupation jails since his election to the PLC in 2006. He also spent a number of years in administrative detention during the years of the two intifadas.

The Israeli occupation has in the past few weeks intensified its campaign of against Change and Reform members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
