GAZA (PIC)– Michel Sabbah the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Palestinian lands has refused to hold Hamas responsible for the attacks on Christian institutions in the Gaza Strip including a monastery and school.
Saying that those attacks were against all Palestinians regardless of their religious affiliations Sabbah said in a press release “the Christian institutions which have been attacked are located at the contact lines between the warring parties in the Gaza Strip so they sustained some damage.”
He called on the Palestinian leadership to be at the level of responsibility stressing that the Palestinian Muslims and Christians are one people and that the West Bank and Gaza Strip are one land.
PA chief Mahmoud Abbas had alleged that Hamas was responsible for the attacks on Christian institutions which was denied by Osama Hamdan the Hamas representative in Lebanon and by Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip who confirmed the arrest of two assailants on those institutions and the pursuit of the rest.
