GAZA (PIC)– In a press conference on Friday Khaled Abu-Hilal the spokesman of the PA interior ministry called on members of the PA police force to resume their duties in the Gaza Strip as of Saturday.
“Instructions had been issued to all the Palestinian policemen to immediately report to work in their positions as of Saturday morning” Abu-Hilal stated in the press conference organized after PA premier Ismail Haneyya’s meeting with the police and executive force commanders in Gaza.
Abu-Hilal added: “There must be full protection to all employees of the police apparatus against any assault; the government and the interior ministry will no longer allow any assault against policemen.”
In the same context the interior ministry warned against storming Palestinian houses or tampering with the public and private properties and demanded a halt to all these phenomena; furthermore the ministry banned the wearing of masks by citizens in Gaza.
