GAZA (PIC)– A number of IOF armored vehicles advanced into Beit Hanoun north of the Gaza Strip at dawn Sunday amid intensive gunfire causing panic among citizens particularly children and women but no reported casualties according to Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses.
The IOF troops had withdrawn earlier Sunday from Nahda neighborhood east of Rafah south of the Strip 24 hours after invading it. According to eyewitnesses the forces left behind considerable destruction in the Palestinian agricultural lands.
In another development on Saturday night a group affiliated with the “Aqsa Martyrs Brigades” in Nablus northern West Bank claimed responsibility for shooting at IOF troops stationed at the Hawara military checkpoint south of Nablus city.
The AMB added that its fighters successfully withdrew to the Kufr Kalil village in the vicinity of the checkpoint and traded fire with the IOF troops who stormed the village.
For its part the Qassam Brigades the armed wing of the Hamas Movement announced the firing of three mortar shells at the Beit Hanoun crossing north of the Strip and warned the IOF command that its continued crimes against the Palestinians would not bring peace and calm to its settlers.
