AL-KHALIL (PIC)– A Palestinian citizen was killed and another was seriously wounded when IOF troops opened machinegun fire at civilians in the Palestinian town of Taffoh west of Al-Khalil city two days after Israeli soldiers massacred a Palestinian family in the city.
Local Palestinian sources identified the fatality as Hijazi Mohammed Zuraikat 17 and the wounded as Yousef Abdulnabi Zuraikat 25 who was reportedly lying in the city’s hospital in critical condition.
Hospital sources affirmed that the two Palestinians sustained a number of gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies.
The Hebrew Ha’aretz newspaper quoted Palestinian inhabitants in the town as affirming that the two were local hunters adding they were not known to be connected to any resistance group.
The paper also quoted an IOF spokesman as alleging that the IOF troops “spotted a number of men discharging their weapons during target practice and opened fire on them”.
“Palestinians carrying weapons were seen as a threat and could be targeted according to standing orders” the paper furthermore quoted the spokesman as affirming.
A couple of days ago IOF troops in Al-Khalil city stormed home of Al-Jabari family in the city proper and peppered them with machinegun bullets killing the 67-year-old father and wounding the 65-year-old mother and five of their sons at least three of them were reportedly in serious conditions.
At dawn Saturday three Palestinian citizens were rounded up by the IOF troops in the town of Yatta south of the city who were searching for a Palestinian truck driver that ran over an Israeli settler and seriously wounded him.
A number of Palestinian citizens were killed or seriously wounded when Israeli motorists deliberately ran over them in that same area.
In Nablus city two Palestinian citizens were apprehended by the IOF troops at the Beit Eba barrier west of the city alleging they were hiding explosive belts around their waists.
In addition large numbers of IOF troops indiscriminately fired at Palestinian homes in Burka village north of the city before storming a number of those homes. No arrests in the village were reported.
But one Palestinian youth was reportedly kidnapped by the IOF troops as they broke their way into Balata refugee camp east of Nablus city at dawn Saturday.
