IOF kidnap mayor of West Bank village

TULKARM (PIC)– IOF troops stationed at the Karame crossing linking the occupied West Bank to Jordan on Tuesday kidnapped Khaled Ulayan mayor of Deir Al-Ghusun village in Tulkarm district on return from Jordan his wife said.

She said that Khaled phoned her at noon saying that IOF soldiers took his passport and asked him to wait but when she tried to phone him again she found that his mobile was switched off.

Khaled was a member in a delegation of West Bank municipal mayors that visited Belgium recently. The municipality issued a statement denouncing the kidnap of its mayor who was elected on the Hamas-affiliated list in the town.

Meanwhile the family of a 30-year-old detained captive urged all concerned institutions to help it locate his exact detention center.

Brother of the detainee Ahmed Ka’ud said that Ahmed was subjected to “cruel” interrogation rounds for two months in Petah Tikva but later “we did not know anything about him”.

Ahmed was previously questioned for 40 consecutive days in Ashkelon prison his brother pointed out adding that Ahmed was kidnapped from the students’ hostel in Nablus where he was attending an MA course at Najah University.
