NAZARETH (PIC)– A number of IOF reservists from Sderot have signed a letter addressed to Israeli premier Ehud Olmert refusing to serve in the army if they were called for reserve duty according to Hebrew press.
About a 100 reservist officers and soldiers took this step of public protest to show their dissatisfaction with the way their government is handling the problem of the Palestinian homemade missiles which have been falling on Sderot.
The protesters then told the press that what Yedioth Aharonoth published their draft letter to the Prime Minister and that their final letter did not say that “they refuse to serve” but that “they find it difficult to serve” as long as the government continues to “abandon Sderot’s residents.”
Many settlers have already left the colony as a result of the Palestinian resistance firing home made missiles in retaliation to IOF atrocities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The hundreds of missiles fired by the Palestinian resistance have killed two Israelis so far. The IOF killed 50 Palestinians and wounded more than 200 over the past two weeks while the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the Aqsa Intifada exceeds 5000 and the number of wounded Palestinians exceeds 55000.
