NABLUS (PIC)– Two Palestinians were killed and a number of others were wounded in a powerful explosion that ripped through a parked car in the Old City of Nablus late Wednesday night.

Medical sources affirmed that Mohammed Fatayer 18 and Wajdi Al-Amodi 22 were killed and badly mutilated in the explosion in their car that also injured five others including one who is reportedly in a serious condition.

The injured were three females including an 8-year-old little girl and two old men who were all hospitalized in Rafidia hospital.

Witnesses said that the explosion blasted a white car that was parked at the eastern entrance to the Old City and reported hearing intensive firing after the explosion.

The AMB the armed wing of Fatah Movement declared general mourning in Nablus. The armed wing charged that the explosion was of a booby-trapped car left in the area by Israeli intelligence through local agents with the aim of assassinating one of its wanted commanders in the city Sufian Kandil who survived the attempt. The armed wing said that its reprisal to the Israeli crimes would be swift.
