NABLUS (PIC)– The Nablus municipality along with national and Islamic foundations in the city organized on Saturday a march towards the IOF Hawara military checkpoint to demand the release of kidnapped PA officials held in Israeli jails.
In their attempt to reach the checkpoint IOF troops blocked the demonstrators from crossing and both sides traded verbal altercations.
The participants carried flags and banners carrying phrases of denounciation of the Israeli daily attacks on the Palestinian citizens. They also chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation and its practices calling on Palestinians to unite in the face of Israeli aggression.
Sheikh Husam Katloni a municipal council member in Nablus district delivered a speech before the rally demanding the prompt release of all prisoners in the Israeli jails and appealing to the international community and the UN to expose the Israeli illegal practices.
The IOF troops on Thursday arrested a PA minister 3 lawmakers and municipal and community officials and notables all affiliated with Hamas. On Saturday the troops captured another PA minister for affiliation with Hamas.
