CAIRO (PIC)– Head of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mashaal met on Saturday evening with General Guide of the Muslim brotherhood Mohamed Badie in Cairo.
A press release issued by the Muslim brotherhood stated that the two parties tabled during their meeting some issues of mutual interest most importantly the Palestinian reconciliation Jerusalem and the situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Mashaal for his part reiterated his Movement’s respect for Egypt’s national security and interests and its keenness on not interfering in any way in its internal affairs.
He affirmed that Egypt has always been supportive of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people are appreciative of the sacrifices made by its army for Palestine.
The Hamas official told Badie that he is in constant contact with the Egyptian leadership and there are channels of cooperation that serve the national security of both sides.
The meeting was also attended by Hamas officials Osama Hamdan and Mohamed Naser.
