Abbas discusses with Haneyya Israeli aggression Lebanon camp

GAZA (PIC)– The PA chief Mahmoud Abbas met on Wednesday with his premier Ismail Haneyya in Gaza city to discuss a number of internal developments as well as the tragic events in the Nahr el-Bared Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon according to the PA premier’s spokesman.

The spokesman Ghazi Hamad said that Abbas and Haneyya highlighted the need to spare the Palestinian refugees in the camps in Lebanon the repercussions of any conflict while emphasizing respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty.

With regard to the internal events; Abbas and Haneyya denounced the internal fighting that took place recently in the Gaza Strip and stressed the need to abide by the agreements signed Hamad elaborated.

They also agreed to hold a meeting soon between the leaderships of Hamas and Fatah in the presence of both Abbas and Haneyya along with the Egyptian security delegation to discuss consequences of the recent events in order to agree on guarantees preventing the recurrence of such incidents and to build a relationship based on trust and mutual respect the spokesman stated.

He added that they discussed and condemned the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip against the Palestinian people and called upon the international community to work rapidly to protect the Palestinian people against the Israeli attacks.

The spokesman pointed out that there would be a meeting between Abbas and the five main Palestinian factions to discuss the recent events in the Palestinian arena particularly the Israeli military escalation and ways to protect the Palestinian people.
