NABLUS (PIC)– The IOF troops stormed and ransacked at dawn Monday the headquarters of a number of TV and local radio stations in Nablus interrupting their transmission PA security sources reported.
Afaq TV director Issa Abul-Ezz said that massive Israeli forces stormed the Afaq station after destroying its main gate and detained the night shift workers. They confiscated the computer and montage equipment in addition to 10-year-old archive tapes. The soldiers also stormed Nablus TV station but without confiscation of equipment.
The IOF troops stormed the headquarters of Sana TV Jama TV and Asia TV stations; and the Holy Qur’an radio and Jabal an-Nar radio stations and confiscated all their equipments.
The Palestinian journalist bloc denounced these attacks against TV and local radio stations considering such acts an attempt to silence the voice of truth and to prevent monitoring the Zionist massacres and crimes against the unarmed Palestinian people.
The bloc stressed that what happened today in Nablus was an extension to the policy of oppression against the free voice of Palestinian journalists and to prevent them from covering the IOF murder and destruction in lines of the Palestinian people.
The bloc also called upon the International Federation of Journalists to condemn these acts against the local stations in Nablus.
For his part Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi the PA minister of information affirmed his solidarity with the TV and radio stations in Nablus saying that these IOF crimes were an assault on the Palestinian democracy and freedom of expression.
He also accused Israel of aiming to silence the Palestinian voice and to cover the truth about its crimes in Nablus which witnesses daily IOF troop’s incursions and aggressions.
Furthermore Hamas Movement deplored the Israeli attacks on the TV and radio stations in Nablus charging that such blatant aggression practiced against the media in the city was the biggest proof of a heinous Zionist policy attempting to conceal the truth of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people through the suppression of freedom of expression.
Such a policy reveals the Israeli premeditated intentions to continue and intensify its military operations against the Nablus city Hamas charged.
The Movement called for uniting ranks and mobilizing efforts to confront the frantic Zionist attacks against the Palestinian cities in general and Nablus city in particular.
