Tamimi warns of Jewish storming of Aqsa on Wednesday

Tuesday 15-May-2007

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Sheikh Tayseer Al-Tamimi the Islamic chief justice in Palestine on Tuesday warned of a fresh Jewish attempt to storm the holy Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Tamimi held the Israeli occupation government fully responsible for consequences of such desecration underlining that the Aqsa Mosque is part and parcel of the Islamic creed and is wholly Islamic.

He also said that Jews had no right to the Aqsa Mosque which is a Muslim holy place and only Muslims could determine who is allowed to enter it.

The warning came after a group of Jewish rabbis made a religious tour of the Aqsa plaza under Israeli police protection a few days ago on the 40th anniversary of the occupation of the Mosque.

Tamimi who is also the chairman of the higher Islamic judicial council appealed to all Palestinians especially those living in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands to frequent the Mosque and to defend it in face of such desecration.

The chief judge also urged Muslims worldwide along with concerned Arab and Islamic institutions to shoulder their historic and humanitarian responsibility towards the Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem. He asked them to act swiftly to check the Israeli occupation government’s scheme against the holy site.

Tamimi also condemned the Zionist settler’s crime of slaughtering the Jerusalemite Arab Tayseer Al-Karki on Monday adding that such a “sinful” crime revealed the “Zionist spite and hatred against any Arab”.

He finally urged all Palestinian factions and forces to contain the “unfortunate incidents” in the Gaza Strip and resort to dialogue. He asked them to focus their attention on the Aqsa Mosque that is the target of a “ferocious and rabid campaign” at the hands of occupation which is exploiting the incidents in the Palestinian arena to go ahead in its plots against the Aqsa.
