The Director General of the Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip, Munir Al-Barsh, revealed on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continue to prevent fuel entry into hospitals.
Al-Barsh said in press statements that the IOF destroyed a number of the medical equipment in the Gaza Strip’s hospitals.
“The occupation must allow fuel to enter hospitals in Gaza City and its northern areas,” he said.
“Thanks to doctors’ ongoing efforts, the dialysis center will restart operating today at the Indonesian Hospital,” he added.
He stated that 600 people are in need of dialysis three times a week and cannot find treatment.
For his part, the Director General of Hospitals in Gaza, Muhammad Zaqout, affirmed that the field hospitals coming to Gaza have not yet started operating despite the urgent need.
Zaqout confirmed that “fuel has not yet reached Al-Shifa, Kamal Adwan, and Al-Ahly hospitals,” noting that “the lack of water and hygiene materials increases the risk of the spread of epidemics.”
