In elegant attire, with joyful expressions, broad smiles, warm greetings, and good health, this is how the Israeli detainees appeared with the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

These signs, among others, were observed by users on social media platforms in the Arab world during the handover by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas, and the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, of the sixth batch of Israelis released by them in the Gaza Strip.

The video published by the Al-Qassam Brigades showed messages of gratitude from the prisoners to the resistance, garnering admiration from virtual communities.

Some Twitter users stated that the resistance is engaged in an unprecedented psychological warfare with Israel, recognizing the importance of imagery in shaping international awareness of Palestinian resistance and the humanity of Muslims and the ethics of the fighters in dealing with prisoners.

Others pointed to the body language exhibited by the detainees towards the members of the resistance, something that cannot be hidden or denied. Some affirmed that the resistance in Gaza managed to astonish the world with its humane treatment of prisoners, who appeared as if they were not living in Gaza—a region deemed one of the most dangerous in the world, witnessing a non-stop war for 55 days with the constant roar of aircraft engines and the sounds of missiles.

In contrast, social media users compared the condition of Palestinian prisoners and the horrifying testimonies about the attacks they suffer from the Israeli occupation authorities. They contrasted this with how those detained by the resistance in Gaza emerge in good health.

Some users cited the story of the Jerusalemite child, Abdul Rahman Amer Al-Zaghl, 14, who could not celebrate his release as part of the third batch of the prisoner exchange deal between Hamas and the occupation authorities. The deal included 21 Jerusalemite children. Abdul Rahman was undergoing surgery at the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital after sustaining serious injuries on August 19th last year. In the presence of a limited audience of his family and under the influence of anesthesia, the occupation police removed the electronic bracelet from his ankle, thereby declaring the end of his house arrest west of Jerusalem.
