IOF demolishes two houses south of Nablus

Friday 15-December-2023

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) blew up the house of the detainee Hamed Kayed Subuh and demolished the house of the detainee Ziad Jibril As-Safadi’s family in the village of Urif, south of Nablus, early Friday morning.

Local sources reported that a large force of the occupation army, accompanied by a bulldozer, raided the village of Urif, besieged the house of the detainee’s Subuh family, forcibly evacuated the family, as well as the neighboring houses, before blowing up the detainee’s apartment, which is located on the second floor of an old building consisting of three floors, where four families of 16 members reside.

Later on, the IOF demolished the house of the detainee Ziad Jibril As-Safadi’s family.

The IOF had previously raided the village council and several houses, before arresting three individuals: Yusuf Shehada, Ammar Shehada, and Abdullah Shehada, after searching their houses.

The IOF arrested the young man Hamed Subuh on June 21st, and also arrested the young man Ziad As-Safadi on July 10th, at the pretext of assisting in carrying out a shooting operation that resulted in the killing of four settlers and the injury of others on the Ramallah-Nablus road, near the village of Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya.

The crime of demolishing and blowing up the houses of martyrs and detainees is classified within the framework of the “collective punishment” policy pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities, which is a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
