PLC calls for calm in Palestinian arena urges exposition of killers

GAZA (PIC)– The PA legislature scathingly condemned on Monday the latest armed clashes vandalism and kidnapping of Palestinian citizens that took place in Gaza Strip a day before describing it as a “shame and clear violation of Palestinian values and culture”.

In an urgent appeal it made over the incidents the PLC urged Palestinian resistance factions especially Hamas and Fatah Movements as well as rational people and conciliation-mongers to immediately intervene to halt the internecine in Gaza Strip and to expose killers and divisiveness-mongers who were behind that unwarranted escalation.

The PLC statement which the PIC had obtained a copy has also asserted that the PLC was seriously following up the escalation in the Strip and putting it in the framework of an Israeli scheme to ignite a civil war in the Palestinian arena.

In addition the PA legislature invited all Palestinian parties to abide by the Makkah accord and to divest the killers of organizational and family cover in order to bring them to justice for prosecution.

It also urged Palestinian media apparatuses to be patriotic in revealing the news to help extinguish fire of divisiveness and to work for calming down tension in the Palestinian arena in order to cut the road before those conspiring against the Palestinian people and tampering with their future.

For its part Hamas Movement accused Fatah faction of breaking an agreement reached by the two factions at dawn Monday to clam down.

The truce was sponsored by the Egyptian security delegation in Gaza Strip.

The Movement further charged that personal guards of Fatah spokesman Maher Mikdad opened their machinegun fire on a passing Hamas’ vehicle wounding a number of people on board.

The incident according to an explanatory statement the Movement issued over the incident and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC prompted Hamas fighters to return fire.

Two journalists of the newly founded Palestine newspaper Suleiman Al-Ashi and Mohammed Abdo were executed at the hands of elements of the PA presidential guard of PA chief Mahmoud Abbas in a cold blood.

As this developed Hamas urged Abbas to order the immediate arrest of the killers and to bring them to justice underlining that the Movement was and still is very much concerned in calming down and in directing its weapons only at the Israeli enemy.
