OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Tens of followers of a fanatic Jewish group have stormed the Aqsa Mosque and strolled in its plazas under full protection of tens of fully-geared Israeli soldiers in clear desecration of the Mosque’s sanctity the Aqsa foundation affirmed.
According to the foundation that caters for Muslim holy shrines in occupied Palestine the defilement of the Mosque on Sunday came as an answer to calls made by religious leaders of the group to perform Jewish religious rites inside the Mosque.
The IOF troops guarding the settlers prevented anyone from approaching or blocking the settlers till they finished their rituals.
The step comes as the Israeli occupation government is celebrating the 40th anniversary of occupying Jerusalem and amidst calls from Jewish rabbis on Israeli settlers to intensify performing Jewish religious rites inside that Muslim sacred place.
In addition the rabbis invited their supporters to storm the Mosque on Wednesday and to celebrate the “Yum Yurshalem” (the Jerusalem day) asserting that “It is about time to intensify the Jewish presence inside the Aqsa Mosque”.
The invitation was welcomed by a number of Israeli politicians and members of the Israeli occupation government despite a possible showdown with Palestinian citizens vowing to die in defense of their sacred Mosque.
In this regard the foundation urged Palestinian Jerusalemites and Palestinian people living in the 1948-occupied lands to march towards the Aqsa Mosque and to hold a sit-in there so as to thwart any Jewish attempt to desecrate it.
The foundation also encouraged security guards of the Mosque to remain vigilant and alerted round-the-clock in a bid to foil any danger the Mosque might be exposed to at the hands of those fanatic groups.
