Hamas accuses local parties of trying to poison national entente

Sunday 13-May-2007

GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Sunday categorically denied any involvement in the killing of an AMB field commander and his associate in northern Gaza.

Ayman Taha Hamas representative in the joint bureau of all factions expressed surprise in a statement to the PIC over the hasty accusation leveled against Hamas.

“We rather hoped that our brothers in Fatah would have been more accurate and not to level charges at random” he elaborated asking them to scrutinize the murder case before pointing fingers at Hamas.

He said that his Movement was exerting utmost efforts to find the culprits because one of Hamas cadres was also killed near the scene of the crime. “Apparently there is a certain party that does not like security stability and national entente to prevail in the PA” he opined.

Meanwhile sources within Fatah faction said that internal differences had led to the killing of Bah’a Abu Jarad one of the commanders of the armed wing of Fatah the AMB.

They said that Abu Jarad had led a rebellion against the Fatah leadership in northern Gaza but the leadership ordered him to obey its orders or else face the consequences.

Barghouthi charges occupation with involvement:
For his part Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi the PA information minister said that Israel was “feeding” the security mess in the Palestinian lands.

In a statement he said that the IOA was instructing its agents in the Palestinian arena to instigate strife and discord in lines of the Palestinian people.

He affirmed that the Palestinian people were struggling to achieve freedom and independence and thus the PA government was adamant on implementing the security plan in order to restore peace and order to the PA-run lands in its capacity as an important prelude towards achieving national rights.

Barghouthi championed unifying the PA security apparatuses as the sole method feasible to stabilize security in the PA-run lands.
