Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have left extensive damage to the infrastructure in Nour Shams refugee camp in the northern West Bank province of Tulkarem, following a 7-hour raid which concluded on Friday morning.

The Israeli military incursion caused significant destruction to the infrastructure, as IOF bulldozers leveled and sabotaged the streets and alleys of the camp.

Earlier last night, the IOF, accompanied by bulldozers, raided Tulkarem City and Nour Shams camp and besieged the area until the early hours of Friday morning.

The PIC correspondent reported that Israeli bulldozers deliberately closed many entrances to neighborhoods and homes in the camp, using earth and asphalt barriers, besieging residents inside their homes.

Eyewitnesses affirmed that the IOF imposed a tight siege on the camp from all directions, while sniper units were deployed on rooftops of buildings surrounding the camp, amid intensified flying of drones. They noted that electricity and telecom networks services were disrupted in the camp during the raid.

Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, announced that their resistance fighters have confronted the IOF raids on Tulkarem City and Nour Shams camp and that fierce clashes erupted as a result.

This was the second IOF incursion into Tulkarem in less than 72 hours, following a previous Israeli one carried out on January 9.
