Four Palestinian citizens were injured and another one was kidnaped after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed on Monday afternoon Nablus City.

According to local sources, Israeli special forces infiltrated into al-Makhfiya neighborhood in the city before military reinforcements stormed the area as school students started to return to their homes.

The sources said that the Israeli forces spread around homes belonging to the families of martyrs Jihad and Uday al-Shami, adding that they heard sounds of gunfire in the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, the Red Crescent said that its ambulance crews rushed to al-Makhfiya neighborhood, where they provided medical assistance for four wounded citizens before evacuating them to hospitals.

Two children, aged 9 and 15, were reportedly injured by bullets in their heads, while an elderly man, aged 71, was hit by a bullet in his abdomen and a 27-year-old young man suffered shrapnel wounds in his back, according to the Red Crescent.

Later, the IOF withdrew from the neighborhood after they kidnaped a young man identified as Abd ash-Shami, the brother of Jihad ash-Shami, from his home.

Jihad ash-Shami was martyred along with two other young men, Uday ash-Shami and Mohamed Dabeek, on March 12, 2023 after the IOF ambushed them near the Sara checkpoint in the west of Nablus.
