Reuters quoted US officials as saying on Tuesday that the US army carried out a new strike on anti-ship missiles belonging to the Ansarullah (Houthi) group in Yemen.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s armed forces reportedly targeted a new ship in the Red Sea on the same day.

Reuters also quoted the British Maritime Trade Operations agency as saying that they received a report about the occurrence of an “incident” 100 nautical miles in the northwest of Saleef in Yemen and launched an immediate investigation into the event.

The Telegraph newspaper website said that a Houthi missile hit a Greek-owned ship transiting in the Red Sea in the northwest of Yemen’s port city of Saleef, adding that the vessel sustained limited damage.

A source within the Greek maritime affairs ministry named the ship as the Zografia, a 24-crew vessel, and said it had been sailing from Vietnam to Israel.

In a related context, the US military claimed that its naval forces had seized a boatload of “advanced conventional weapons” sent from Iran to the Houthi group in Yemen during a raid last week, in which two of its commandos went missing.
