AMMAN (PIC)– PA foreign minister Ziad Abu Amre has agreed with his Jordanian counterpart Abdul Ilah Al-Khatib on the strength of the Palestinian-Jordanian relations.
Abu Amre-Khatib discourse in Amman on Saturday also tackled the expected visit of King Abdullah II of Jordan to Ramallah slated for Sunday (13/5) for a meeting with PA chief Mahmoud Abbas.
Khatib underscored that the monarch’s visit came to declare backing to the PA chief and Authority and fell in line with the constant consultations between Abbas and Abdullah.
The two ministers also discussed means of promoting cooperation in favor of both peoples’ interests in addition to latest regional developments means of ending the siege imposed on the Palestinian people and the Arab peace initiative.
Both chief diplomats are to join the Arab committee that would table the Arab initiative at the EU foreign ministerial council on Monday (14/5).
Abu Amre who is on his first visit to Amman agreed with his Jordanian opposite number on maintaining coordination between both sides and with the Arab countries in general to end Israeli occupation establish the Palestinian independent state and achieve peace in the region.
