NAZARETH (PIC)– A high-ranking Israeli officer has acknowledged that his troops had indeed coercively quelled a peaceful rally held by Palestinian citizens and foreign activists championing their cause.
The officer who is the IOF commander in Al-Khalil region has admitted that one of his junior officers in the Samoo town south of Al-Khalil city has ordered his troops to quell a peaceful demonstration held by Palestinians and their foreigners advocating their cause.
According to the officer the quelling orders followed the foreign demonstrators’ attempt to remove one of the hundreds of military roadblocks that the IOA installed across the West Bank and hampered free crossing of the Palestinian people.
However the officer’s admission came at the backdrop of a video-taped film showing him and his subordinates quelling and beating the peaceful demonstrators in a savage and harsh manner.
Yet an Israeli organization grouping fanatic Jewish settlers settling in the Palestinian district urged the IOF regional commander in Al-Khalil not to take any disciplinary measures against the IOF troops involved in the incident.
Video-taping the IOF troops’ quelling and humiliating measures against the Palestinian people embarrass the Israeli occupation government and its media machinery before the international community.
But to absorb the impact of such films the IOA is holding fictitious trials for the “erred” officers with the aim to deceive the international community and to show that the incident was isolated.
Tens of Palestinian citizens are being kidnapped at the hands of the IOF troops in the West Bank on daily basis that increased the number of Palestinian captives in Israeli jails to more than 12000 many of them held for years without charges or trials.
