US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters day 276

Monday 8-July-2024

GAZA, (PIC)

As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 276 on Monday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas and massacre more civilians, especially in northern Gaza.

Reporters for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to bomb homes and attack citizens in different areas of Gaza during the past 24 hours.

According to media sources, the Israeli army targeted a number of citizens in al-Saftawi neighborhood in the north of Gaza, injuring eight of them, including three kids.

The Israeli army also bombed a house near the Tayaran junction in the south of Gaza City, killing one civilian and injuring seven others.

More casualties were reported in other areas of Gaza following Israeli aerial, artillery and shooting attacks last night and today.

Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza City have experienced today one of the most intense Israeli bombardments since the Israeli army launched its US-backed genocidal war on the embattled coastal enclave.

Columns of Israeli tanks were reported to have closed in on the center of Gaza City from different directions, in the midst of aerial strikes.

The civil emergency service in Gaza says a number of people have been killed, but its crews have so far been unable to reach them because of the intense Israeli attacks on several areas in the east and west of Gaza City.

The Al-Ahli Hospital in Zeitoun neighborhood in the south of the city was also reported to have been evacuated, with its patients being taken to one of the remaining medical facilities still functioning in the area, which is the overcrowded Indonesian Hospital.

Ahead of its operation in Gaza City, the Israeli army had issued evacuation orders for several neighborhoods in the center of the city, including Tuffah, Daraj and the Old City, according to local residents and journalists.

But one of the areas that has come under the most intense bombardment in the morning, Tel al-Hawa, was not included in the Israeli evacuation orders. Citizens who fled those areas of Gaza City along with families reported that they did not know where to go.
