Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has revealed on Saturday new details about the assassination of the chief of Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haneyya, in Tehran last Wednesday, vowing that the blood of the martyr will not go in vain.
The IRGC said in a third statement since the crime, “This assassination was planned and implemented by the Zionist occupation with the support of the criminal US government.”
“According to investigations, this terrorist attack was carried out using a short-range projectile carrying about 7 kilograms of explosive materials fired from outside (Haneyya’s) residence in Tehran,” the statement added.
On Wednesday morning, Hamas announced the martyrdom of Haneyya in Tehran the day after his participation in the inauguration of Iran’s newly elected Masoud Pezeshkian.
