The Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad announced Wednesday that the number of the martyrs of the pager explosions in Lebanon has risen to 12 martyrs, including two children.
Abiad pointed out in a press conference, that “the number of the wounded ranges between 2,750 and 2,800 including 300 people with critical injuries.”
On Tuesday, Abiad announced in a preliminary statistic the martyrdom of nine people, including a girl, and the injury of about 2,750, most of whom are members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon and the southern suburb of Beirut after the explosion of wireless communication devices they were using.
The Minister of Health appealed to “all hospitals to receive the injured with no exception.”
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Civil Defense said that “hospitals in the south have exceeded their capacity, and they are working to transfer the wounded outside the governorate.”
