The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus, said on Thursday that more than 181,000 children were vaccinated in the second round of the polio vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Ghebreyesus added in statements on X that the second dose vaccination concluded in central Gaza Strip, from October 14-16, with 181,429 children being vaccinated against polio.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Monday the launch of the second round of the polio vaccination campaign in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
On September 12, the first round of polio vaccination campaign was conducted in Gaza, with the vaccination of more than 560,000 Palestinian children.
